Preston Hall Hospital
Allen Pyke were appointed by Weston Homes to produce a landscape masterplan and detailed planting proposals for the renovation of this former manor house to residential apartments.
Preston Hall Hospital is a Grade II listed building that includes the stone fountain at the rear of the property and other landscape artefacts. The manor house was designed and built by John Thomas in 1850 in a Neo-Elizabethan style. It was converted into a hospital for the Royal British Legion and used during WW1. It was subsequently converted into district offices for the NHS.
The landscape proposals respond to the historic layout and design influences whilst creating an appropriate treatment as communal residential grounds for the proposed apartments. The manor forms the central part of a wider residential masterplan.
