Orchard Park L2, Cambridge

Allen Pyke were appointed by Cambridge Investment Partnership (CIP), a collaboration between Cambridge City Council and Hill Partnership, to develop this underutilised plot in Orchard  Park for residential development. The residential buildings and layout was produced by Mole Architects, who worked on the adjacent, award winning, Marmalade Lane development. The layout was set around a shared surface courtyard with soft edges to the building frontage and links to public open space. Improvements to the adjacent public open space formed an important part of the application.

A public consultation event informed our proposals to incorporate additional play, enclosure and community uses to the space. The proposals will transform an under used, dull space into an elegant active and green parklet catering for the local community. Planning Approval was granted in 2021.
