Brighter Places
As part of Notting Hill Housing’s 50th anniversary celebrations a mini-competition was held to improve three of their sites with a limited budget. Allen Pyke won the competition and worked with the client and the successful contractor Ginko to improve these spaces for residents. The project involved consultation with residents and were all opened in October 2013.
Penfold Street is an extension to a dementia garden providing calm surroundings and a variety of sensory stimuli.
Percy Road is a garden for young adults to take ownership, socialise and hold community and workshop events. The garden was designed in conjunction with the residents.
Roebuck House residents were involved in the design stage to create a functional communal garden space separating the cars from the amenity area. The budget has to include for works to the existing boundary wall and provision of a new accessible handrail to improve safety at the entrance of the building.
