Allen Pyke were commissioned by Cambridge City Council to prepare sketch landscape design proposals and planting plans for this reconditioned sheltered accommodation site in Cambridge.

The design includes a communal courtyard with a circular shaded seating area beneath a mature Robinia tree as central feature. The planting within the courtyard includes flowering and scented plants to provide a soothing setting for the occupants. The paving has been selected for comfort and seating raised slightly to assist the residents. The landscape has been designed in consultation with the council’s maintenance department, to meet operational and budgetary requirements. The scheme was completed in October 2012.
