Shortlisted in Wimbledon design competition
Allen Pyke staff member and Wimbledon resident Nicola Keen was shortlisted from around 100 entries in the Future Wimbledon Big Ideas design competition, held in September 2014. The competition was organised by Merton Council’s strategic planning and regeneration team, as an opportunity for design professionals and local community groups to share their ideas for Wimbledon town centre and inform the future masterplan plan for this well-known area, famed for tennis and the Wombles!
Nicola’s entry proposed creating a new public square and train station hub to accommodate the expansion of Crossrail2, and redeveloping empty town centre buildings and a rundown warehouse area into affordable housing.
