At Graylingwell, residential development sensitively integrates former hospital buildings and historic landscape features to enhance both the environment and educational value of the site. We produced a cultural strategy which introduces three themed trails — Fitness, Ecology, and Heritage — promoting health, learning, and awareness of the site’s history and natural assets.

Artistic features such as signage, interpretation boards, seating, play elements, and sculptures are incorporated throughout the landscape to strengthen identity, improve wayfinding, and encourage community interaction

Overall, the strategy reflects Victorian principles, linking outdoor activity with wellbeing, supporting physical and psychological health while safeguarding ecological and historic significance.
