LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN (LEVEL 3 APPRENTICE) – KINGSTON

Our Kingston office is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to support our team of Landscape Architects. We are excited to be working with Capel Manor College to offer an apprentice position for a Landscape Technician.

As a Landscape Technician you will work with our team of Landscape Architects on a variety of projects including parks, roof gardens, play areas, streetscapes, public realm and other outdoor spaces.
The post will provide the successful applicant with an exciting opportunity to progress their career in a friendly, studio-based office environment.

We are looking for a pro-active, enthusiastic, technically minded, creative candidate.

You will learn:

• • • • 2d and 3d computer aided design (Autocad/REVIT)
      • Adobe suite of packages (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
      • Hand-drawn graphic skills
      • Planting design
      • Hard landscape design
      • Landscape construction detailing
      • Introduction to Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA)
      • The Planning System

Key responsibilities include:

• • • • Prepare drawings, documents, graphics and visualisations for landscape schemes from concept stage to detailed design and construction to aftercare and management
      • Contribute to planning applications and other regulatory procedures
      • Use Computer Aided Design (CAD), other software and traditional drawing methods
      • Prepare detailed specifications for suitable hard and soft landscape materials
      • Prepare and present of maps and plans to support data gathering of sites and study areas, especially in relation to Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment
      • Work with and support landscape professionals to deliver projects, record completed work on site, produce as built/record drawings and schedules and manage contracts
      • Work with and support landscape professionals to undertake site investigations, analysis and appraisals
