Former RAF Uxbridge

Allen Pyke Associates were commissioned by VSM Estates Ltd to provide a landscape strategy for the redevelopment of this historic military site. The site developed over approximately 90 years as a military establishment within the grounds of the 18th century Grade II Hillingdon House. APAL undertook a comprehensive historic landscape survey reviewing the landscape development from the 17th and 19th centuries and through to the various phases of the military use which included barracks training and a number of bunkers including one which Churchill during WWII and is now Grade I listed. The findings of the survey were subsequently used to inform the masterplan and landscape strategy which we prepared for the redevelopment of the site into a mixed use scheme known as St Andrews Park, with works starting on site in 2013.
